The inaugural Symposium of the Irish Association for Simulation (IAS) took place on March 5th, 2016, in the beautiful Georgian building of the College of Anaesthetists of Ireland in Merrion Square Dublin. The launching meeting was attended by 50 attendees belonging to an array of healthcare specialties and disciplines brought together by a common and keen interest for simulation-based medical education and patient safety. The meeting programme was widely commended by participants and Faculty alike. Reassuringly, there was huge positive vibe in relation to the founding of the IAS as a means of networking for

simulation enthusiasts around Ireland.
